I believe the tahoe/yukon will be out soon with the truck following it some time down the road. If i remember correctly either late this year or early next.

That is great for people that live in the city, I live in the country and in the mountains. What pisses me off is that my taxes go to pay for rebates for people to buy vehicles that are useless for me. I lived in greater Vancouver for a long time and they have pollution monitoring on all vehicles, then some ship comes in and puts out more pollution than any city of vehicles, amassing you never hear of anyone wanting to restrict there access to high sulfur fuel, or to add any pollution control devices. Just my pet peeve. PLAY SAFE!

I agree, i saw a thing on Discovery some time ago about diesel engines and they showed one of the big diesel engines in a container ship putting out around 100,000 HP, the thing sucks up around 40 gallons of fuel a minute. Thsat cost efficient huh? How many gallons is that if it takes 5 days to come acrossed the ocean? Approx. 288k gallons of fuel? And they say our vehicles are why the demand for fuel is so high. Like you said how much pollution is this thing spitting out?

The Tahoe Hybrid is out NOW for demo only - not for sale. Local GMC dealer employees are saying 29 to 30 mpg. Guess I'd better arrange a test drive to see what it is like.

Their last Hybred was a flop, the salesman was trying to push me into a hybred when i bought my D-max. I took him out to the lot and showed him the sticker for the standard 5.3 truck and the sticker for the hybred 5.3, same fuel milage. So to me why bother spending the exta $$$ for a problematic hybred that gets the same fuel milage as a normal gasser. The real fuel milage is with the Diesel.

What's up with that sticker across the doors? That looks ridiculous. There is no need to make it look that way when there is already a hybrid badge on the fender. Dumb.

I agree with the whole sticker thing, it looks rediculous. My guess is that GM will make it an option to not have it eventually, but untill then it is almost like free advertising, because a lot of people will be amazed of a full sized hybrid pickup and SUV.

I was looking at the cutaway of the modded 6L80E trans on the hybrid, and I may be wrong, but it looks like the electric motors do 100% of the work until your going fast enough to be in 1st gear or reverse with no tprque multiplication.I say this because it appears that the transmission has NO torque convertor. So it would be 100% power transfer once your up to about 5-8 mph, then you should be able to go into 1st gear.I may be wrong ,but the pics sure looked like no TC at all. This may limit its towing capacity.

In the new Hybrid Tahoe and Silverado you can go up to about 30 mph without the engine turning on. This of course allows you to only drive a little ways before the engine turns back on to charge the batteries, but i cool feature non the less.
