I installed my boost gauge a few weeks back and thought I would share the following idea.
I ran the boost gauge tube through some 7/32 ID vacuum hose. It required doing the tubing installation twice, once to measure and trim the length of vacuum hose I needed, then pull it all out so I could run the boost gauge tube through the vacuum hose (it went in very easily if the vacuum hose was straight but became difficult with even a slight bend), then re-install the combination. I also used a grommet where it goes through the firewall. I had to use a soapy water solution to lubricate the tube as it went through the grommet.
I'm confident I won't have any kinking or chaffing with this "armor" around the boost gauge tube.
