I'm looking at planning a trip to Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, and Prince Edward Island this August and was curious if anyone knows if ULSD is widely available in these areas of Canada?

unlike some of the States in the USA, which still does not sell ULSD. Canada went ULSD everywhere, no matter where you are, since 2006 Canada has been selling ULSD

Hope this helps

In Canada It Is All Ulsd....

Even if Canada hadn't completely converted to ulsd (I know it has), the occasional use of higher sulfur fuels does no damage whatsoever to the emissions system.

The new emissions system has been around for almost a year now and during that time LOTS of owners have deliberately or inadvertently used lsd with no issues, including taking their trucks into Mexico for a few months at a time. I am personally in touch with 3 owners of trucks in Mexico, one of which has now done more than 12,000 miles on high sulfur Mexican fuel. Consistent with my many posts on this forum, all of the scientific testing of the DPF by the EPA and manufacturers showed no effect on the DPF for at least 40,000 miles on high sulfur fuels.

Please note, I am not counselling owners to use lsd, just pointing out that it will not cause a problem if used intermittently. If it was a real danger the filler holes on our trucks would have been designed to accept only a special ulsd pump spout, like they did for cars when unleaded gas was introduced.

Anyway, enjoy your trip to Canada, and don't worry about the fuel. You're more likely to pick up some lsd in the States on your way north. Some Flying Js and Walmarts and Murphys still sell lsd.
