say i want to get out of my pickup, but want to keep it running. crime is a concern around here so id like to have it locked (even if it's me running somewhere for 5 or so minutes and leaving it alone)

i have two remotes. if i get outside the truck when its running and locked and unlock it from the outside will it set the alarm off? im not sure about this alarm, one time i shutit off and stayed inside for a minute or two looking through some papers and went to unlock the door and the alarm went off. is mine on the fritz or is this normal?

I leave the key in the ignition runnning the truck and lock the doors with the remote. Come back to the truck and hit the remote again and go. No problem.

You could allways get a remote start system.

On mine if the truck is running and I hit the power locks on the way out( I always have two keys on me)....the drivers side door automatically unlocks, instantly........am I the only one?

If the truck is running and the drivers door is open when I hit the power locks, the drivers door automatically unlocks.

If the truck is running and the drivers door is closed when I hit the power locks or use the remote, the drivers door locks.

That's why you have to use the remote, not just hit the switch on exit. It does that so you don't lock yourself out, but when they are closed it works fine.
