Darn if I didn't throw the boat hitch right off the ball of my truck. I did lock it down but it must not have been latched under the ball. 55mph and I hit a bump. Then I got a big bump and grind.

Safety chains caught the trailer, the tongue went under the truck and the bow pulpit and rail of the boat went 'through' the tailgate of my truck.

If you see a 2500 with a new 'take off' tailgate from a 3500 dually and the extra brake light doesn't work, it's me. I'm the stupid that's now $571 poorer.

My dad had someone pull his reciever pin and the same thing happened. He now always checks everything twice.

Wasted too much time trying to get a picture into the message. Can't figure out how to take a picture from my picture files and get a URL, or whatever that is?

Hope I have better results getting my new center brake light to work.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen to me once. Was making a short trip with my trailer empty and neglected to latch the ball down well. Went over a bump and the trailer started dragging. Manually put the trailer brakes on full, slowed down, got out, picked up the trailer and put it back on the ball (yes, by hand. My trailer is pretty light). Secured it, kicked myself for being an idiot. Since then, always double check it. Just lucky that nobody was in the other lane when that happened.
