Does anyone know how much EGT's are lowered by only replacing the stock muffler with a straight pipe.

You will lower you EGT's about 100 degrees, maybe a little more. I have a straight pipe on mine and noticed lower EGT's once it was installed.

I removed the muffler on my Lb7. I agree, the EGT went down by around
100 degrees. The turbo spools at much lower RPM.
Noise is not bad on the inside, but outside it's loud.

if i go hack off my CAT on my 05 Duramax, will it throw an error code? There's actually an interceptor that can take care of that ... I think it is called "finger stick."

yea straight pipe lowers your egt but u loose back pressure wich afects your turbo psi & horse power on the dyno just get a "banks big head accuator" 4 about $250 bucks and adj it to about 30-32 psi on manifold side. I wouldnt trade my duramax for the world lly ex cab sumit white pushing 700 hp "cummin stroke this boyz" sticker in the back window.
