Does anyone have any good or bad information in regards to K&N OIL FILTERS? Any and all independent information I have read ranks them pretty high. I have been using them mainly because of the nut welded on the bottom...makes it super easy to remove/install filters. I have been using them for 25K of the 30k on my truck. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I heard that Mobil 1 and Amsoil are better but K&N is a good filter.

I ran the K&N's on my Dodges. Gotta love that bottom of the filter feature, don't ya? Man, put on a wrench, turn...it comes off! Amazing idea. I don't use them anymore. AC Delco is filling my shelf at the moment. When they're gone, I'll think about them again. :)

Well from what I read, the mobil 1 and K&N filters are made by the same company. The article was a comparison in filters. The filter that finished best was the Mobile 1, then the Amsoil and K&N Tied. I do understand that this is just one article and there is always others. I was just wondering if others had any other experiances. You can't beat the ease of the K&N nut on the bottom...no worries about getting the filter off.

A K&N rep told me that Moble 1 and K&N use the same filter material. A K&N has a thicker stronger can and the nut for safty wire. I use the Moble one filters and you can tell they work well by how long the oil stays clear. I use the k&N on stuff that will slam the filter if the moter mount breaks. Check the location and if you think a broken mtr mount of control arm or somthing could slam your filter then having a thicker K&N can will give some piece of mind.
