Well..finally got this on my truck today...both are awesome. Allisison is still learning....egts are down 120 degrees over stock.:ro) The exhuast is very well mannered in the cab but when you are on it with the windows down it sounds awesome. The fit and finish was good. The predator 100 hp tune is very similar to edge 5x5 but without the damn bark...yes! I would recommend it over the edge at this point....especially if you have gauges. Gonna fool around running the smaller tunes and stacking sometime next week.

Hows the low end compared to the edge? Does it hit real hard or a little smoother than the edge. I guess after having my VA box on my 03, this edge box is a little annoying.

Congrats!
I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with it.

There is definitely more low end...in fact the throttle is a little touchy...but I can live with that. Hey Mcrat....when are you pickin up that late christmas present from tts...you know...level3? I can't wait to hear about that one!

I agree, it sounds like the EDGE provides more oomph higher in the torque curve from everything I've read but the Predator's giddyup is down low. Touchy throttle for sure and smiles-a-plenty I love mine I'm sure you will too. Congrats!!!

dpower,
That's a great EGT drop from the exhaust, do you have an intake system. I didn't see one in your signature and was curious if the 120 degrees was exhaust alone?

No intake what so ever...just the stock paper filter. The funny thing is I didn't really expect that much. The homemade system I had on there prior was 4 in. from the flange back with an lb7 front pipe. That dropped me about 70 degrees......with the new 4in. front pipe and the mbrp 4in system I am down a solid 125 degrees after some more test and tune today....I am really happy with this system. It sounds good, is well mannered in the cab and sounds awesome under wide open throttle....much better than my homemade job. On these lly's it is neccessary to run a full system to keep the temps in check especially with hot programs......second in line only to a modded tranny of course. Just my .02. On another note.....I bought my exhaust and predator from you guys.......absolutely awesome customer service.....I will be using you guys again in the future I am sure.Thanks....Dpower:ro)

Mark Craig- I saw an even larger drop in egt's with a 4" exhaust only. I have an LB7, came with a cat, and over the past 5k mi. or so, I saw egt's going from 500 at 70 cruise, to 750 or more. Engine temps were high also (fan kicked on a lot more frequently). Also seemed to have lost a bit of power. I first blocked off the egr with a plate, saw little difference in temps, then put on turbo-back 4" exhaust. Temps immediately came back down to 450-500 cruise, and no more fan or high engine temps. Performance and mileage came back as well. I'm pretty sure something is plugged up on the stock cat, but its between two bends, so I can't see it unless I cut the pipe ahead of it.( I'm keeping it for warranty). So, if any of your emmisions-equipped customers complain of temps gradually going up and performance going down, you might check the cat.

dpower, svpdiesel,
Great feedback guys I apprecitate it. I figured the LLY cats would start to do some of that increasing EGT stuff pretty soon. We have been dealing with that on the Ford side since approx 1997 or so. I can't tell you how many folks have called wanting a programmer or chip and we suggested they drop their cat in the Ford's to see if that's the reason they needed to up the HP, 99% of the time they call back with WOW I still want the programmer but the cat was almost totally closed off etc.
