: Does TTS Xtreme bark the turbo?

I see many threads with people talking about turbo bark when stacked or running a big box. Does the Xtreme do this? I am planning on some big power this year and would like to know what I will be getting into.

anything will bark the turbo if you are in the throttle hard and lift quickly. Bigger the program the more carefull you have to be.

Gotcha. How does this program start/run when it is cold out. My Juice will rattle quite bad when it is below -15C even if it is plugged in.

Never noticed my juice being much nosier than stock? TTS runs great in all power levels regardless of heat from my experience. I dont flog it unless the motor is warm though.....juice turns the power down till the motor warms up, TTS dosnt. The TTS is switchable like the juice witch is nice. When weather turns to crap or when i plow i nock it down. 80hp level TTS is much more controlable IMO than the juice comparitivly but I think thats just becasue the juice brings the power on so quick in the pedal.

The rattle on the juice is quite noticable no matter what setting it is on. Take it off and the cold start rattle goes away. I just put up with it cause who wants to drive stock. Have you towed with the 80hp setting? How is it for egt?

I guess I should have labeled this thread 21 Xtreme questions...

the coldest i have had my tts in was single digits and it sounded about like it always does, which is pretty much quiet. i towed a 28ft tag-a-long camper with my 80hp setting and i didnt even know it was back there. i had the cruise on 70 and encountered some pretty steep grade and it never geared down outta 5th. as far as egt's i still havent hooked up my gauges-:t . but hopefully i can get around to that this weekend when my Super Diesel manifold gets here. hope that helps

You are a brave man, towing with a 80hp program and no egt. I would never do that......... ):h

With a tranny in the very near future i am looking forward to some big power. And a friend for blue bottle collecting dust in the corner of my garage:ro)

who needs an egt??? I have been running my Extreme for months without one. I put the 4" exhaust on and let her rip. LOL Im really not to worried about it. shes held together good so far.:ro) but my egt and boost gauges should be going in this weekend. along with my remote start and lift pumps(maybe). looks like im gonna be busy.

BTW i have yet to bark my turbo with the TTS. and i hafta done several full throttle launches and goin through all 5 gears with the shifts turned all the way up on my ATS co-pilot. however i have not altered my turbo or wastegate in any way. i plan to do a banks wastegate here soon but im only gonna be setting it at 26-28psi at initial lift(Thanks to the research of "Got Juice?") LOL

i was the same way till i installed the big head, but then i run around the 30psi, i found one way to remove the bark is when i turn on the lp, i think it burns all the excess diesel, which causes the bark:ro)

Unloaded the 80 hp tune runs very cool. Much cooler than a similar edge tune. I havent been stock for so long):h but I want to say it runs about stock EGT's(or EGT's with the juice set to 0). I towed with my HJ/AT set to kill once.....EGT's were managable if you payed attention and that thing gets HOT)like any big program). Driving like a mad man with 1k of pavers in the bed for ballast and a 9'6" V blade in the front and the 80HP tune runs fine EGT wise and is very controlalble. I havent towed with it though.

I have noticed without pluged in the truck would sound like a old PS or cummins for a few seconds till it warmed up, thought that was just normal? Havent started my truck with it cold and not pluged in though yet with the TTS so i duno if it does the same? I dont think I ever was stock in the winter LOL):h I only ran stock for maybe 5k........I remember turning my edge down once because a fellow mwmber was curious what kinda boost you should swing stock and I jumped on it in 5th gear, I got bored waiting for the tach to swing so i shut her down before I toped out.

I put a WGFBW on my truck tuesday......no barks but i swing 32 ish max(what i swing with the extreme by itself)

Waste Gate Fooling Boost Widget BTW. Man does that little needle swing fast now.

Yeah, I always plug the truck in when cold outside. I figure if I can afford the payment I can afford to plug in. It really bothers me when guys brag about starting thier truck at xx temp I never plugging it in when they could have. Someone I know up here bent a push rod this way.

What and where does this Widget come from? How does it work?

I got mine durring a christmass special. I installed it to the "factory" preset 10psi(supposedly) setting and rolled on it in 5th gear and freaked out when the little needle started swinging(very rapidly I might add) past 32psi, i shut it down and still hit 34:eek:

Basicly it keeps the wastgate from seeing any boost till it reaches a set level, this keeps the wastgate completely closed longer making it come on boost quicker. With this thing I dont know if I've ever seen a needel swing so fast):h Peak power is the same I'm sure and I would assume in a boosted launch on the strip it would make no effect but general playing on the street shows an improvment. I need to screw with it a bit more though.

that thing kinda reminds me of a low grade JuiceGrips design):h

but its anodized instead of chromed so it shouldnt blow up anything.....gime a few weeks to be sure though ):h

Actually it dosnt limit how much boost the wastegate sees, it just limits when it sees it, I have a feeling that my first romp the turbo got spinning so fast the wastegate wasnt able to back off quick enough to slow it down.

Stock unmolested wastegate I see 30-32 with the extreme straightpipe and AFE stage 2. Measured at the WG line. With my WGFBW I see the 32

what do you see and were are you measuring?
