I installed my lift and I seem to have some sort of clunk sound. When I had my rancho lift on, the noise was not there. Does anyone else have a noise like this when their lift was put on. I am planning this weekend on checking every bolt I touch when installing the lift. could the 20's and 35's sound different being that the sidewall is smaller and stiffer than the tire combo that was previously on the truck.

Could be the steering shaft which a lot of people have been having problems with. I think the procomp steering set up is different than the rancho. Could you refresh my memory? FYI when I had my procomp on I had a clunking noise. Describe the noise? When does it occur? Do you know how to check your pitman & idler arms for play?

I am going to check all bolts this weekend. The Noise occurs when the suspension takes a jolt, from something such as a crack in the road or a pot hole (I am currently in Chicago, the roads are like mine fields right now). It seems like it could be two objects hitting each other, but i looked under the truck and did not see any evidence of contact anywhere. The the suspension moves slowly or smoothly such as what would result from a dip in the road, there is no noise. It is bothering the hell out of me. I can't stand mystery nosies or oil leaks!

I totally agree. I had a squeek comming from the rear of my truck and I could not figure it out until i rode in the bed as my buddie drove my truck. Ended up being new shocks rubbing on rear mounts. Let me know what you find out.

With my old ProComp kit the front shocks jiggled in the lower mounts and made a clunking noise over large bumps or pot holes.

That could be. When I check the truck, I will make sure to check the shock mounts.

Nine did the same when they were brand new. Make sure they are quite tight. Don't be scared to put to elbow grease on'er. And always, always put some loctite. Mine also made some noise cause by front shocks.

make sure you check your ball joints, didnt catch what year the truck is depending on the steering setup there are many variable there that can give that type of noise.

I almost forgot, check the clearance between the differential and the crossmember that was cut out. If there isnt much of a gap there, the diff might be hitting what remains of the crossmember.

Check the bolts on your tie rod ends, the bolts may not be tighten all the way also check your ball joints and tire clearance when you turn. I had the same problem

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be the front passenger shock. The top bolt came a little loose and would clunk would I hit a bump. I tightened her up and haven't heard a sound since.
