I have reviewed many threads on Fuel Filtration and they all show something that makes me wonder. Doesnt it defeat the purpose of dual filtration when a 7 micron filter is installed prior to the normal oem full flow filter (not sure of the micron). Im sure that the 7 micron removes all the contaminants that the OEM would. I guess what I am asking is there a 7 micron filter that directly spins on in the OEM place and then add a filter (nictane..) between that and the tank? The way I see it you're really only getting 7 micron filtration and the original OEM is useless.

original OEM is useless anyways. Thats why we add secondary filters.
There is nothing avail to replace the OEM spin directly.

Ogre,
Remember....it depends what you put in....filters are removing a percentage of the dirt depending on size. So having two filters is better than one....they key to remember is there is an absolute maximum amount of junk we want to stay below so that our injectors have a useful life.
If you buy clean fuel...then you are ahead...but if the fuel is dirty enough...two filters will let in enough dirt to do damage.
So most of us have a least one extra filter.
