I called ORU and tried to order the bilstein 5100s for an 05 GMC 2500 HD 4x4. They said they are on backorder and would not give me the part numbers for them, they change the in house number that forwheel and offroad posted so you have to buy from them and bilstein does not list a p/n for them. Anybody know where I can get these ASAP?

Those are the stainless bodied ones right? What's the difference between those and the yellow shocks?

WAskier,
Nothing, they are the same, just one is yellow and the other is like zinc or nickle plated. They are on national back order, especially the plated ones. I was at ORU 3 weeks ago and they said it would be a few weeks before they could even fill the orders they had at that time. There was a post on this forum with the part numbers from Bilstein, I believe they use a shock valved almost identically to the GM bilsteins but are an inch or 2 longer and actually belong on a Ford, go figure.

dag: keep searching, the post was about 2 weeks ago and it was about the new keys to lift 2inches from stock, or something like that.

dag, here it is, posted by John@dps

The part number for the increased length Bilstiens that some companys sell for a small lift of 1 or 2" is BE5-6140-H0 it is a universal stem/eye mount that is appro. 2"s longer than our stock bilstiens. It is also the shock that comes in the oru green key kit as far as I know. We can also get these shocks for anyone if they want them. John
Hope it helps

WAskier, I don't know if the replacement bilsteins for our trucks are 5100's or not. I know the one's ORU sells with the lift kit are like $90.00, rip off, that's why they don't want to give the PN. Our replacement bilsteins are like $60.00 or so from Kennedy, dps or anyother vendor here.

Unless there is an application specific listing for the 5100's, (none for the non lifted,<ie over 2"> you will be getting valving designed for a different application.

The yellow units are designed for the Silverado HD's operating within the normal travel limits of the stock suspension stops, and are identical in length to the OE units...
