Talked to the local Allison dealer today about the availability of the new style NSBU switch, P/N 29540479 -- the tan one, and he said they still have 4 in stock but have recieved a notice that a new design is coming out but won`t be available until June. Anybody know anything about this ??

Might as well wait for the new update in June.

Just a guess, but GM probably replaced the previous supplier with a new one.

There is a single connector unit that the new trucks are using, I am not aware of Allison changing to it, but its possible. Would require rewiring the truck to accept it. Havent heard of any changes from my suppliers.

It is possible that GM changed suppliers or kept the same supplier and changed the design of the switch. Hard to say. I guess its worth checking into.

Doesn't Greg L. have a relative that works for Allison?
He would probably know.

The new switch is P/N 24221125. 55$ at an Allison dealer. Single twelve pin Delphi/Packard connector that you will play hell getting. Not an Allison part. Not available through G.M. Took me a year to get two. New switch is black. It is full of oil which leaks out. I cleaned and sealed mine. If your good at electronics and schematics, rewiring the new connector is not all that bad. If you aren't, don't even attempt it. Your local Allison dealer can download and copy the design sheets. You will need drawing A564-205 and A564-220 for the pin locations. Good luck.
