I'm curious if I can remove the DPF and install a replacement part without installing a 5" muffler. I'm looking at the DPF delete and a EFI live tuner. Feedback please. I want to avoid making the truck louder or the dreaded droning! :D

yes you can do this, but i would just recommend doing a whole turbo back system w/ a muffler.

It's easier to just get an exhaust kit. I wanted to just pull the DPF and have a friend weld flanges on a piece of pipe to replace the DPF, but a kit is way easier to buy and install. The pipe would need to be custom bent and nobody around here can bend anything over 3". I've decided a turbo-back kit will suit my needs very nicely. From what I've heard the magnaflow is pretty good as far as not having a drone. or if you want to be even quieter you could do a cat-back exhaust and that would be less noisy then a turbo-back kit with a muffler. Magnaflow systems are stainless and can be found for a very reasonable price if you look for it.
