What type of mirror are you running on your rig (stock), manual extending, power extending, etc.

I would like to know why you made the choice and pro's and con's (more specifically the con's).

I would like to get heated mirrors as that has been a pet pieve of mine on my old chevy plow trucks. I would like to get the manual extending mirrors (less parts to break/replace) to see around my 102" wide trailer, but not sure if they come heated.

Suggestions.

I have the OEM power extend mirrors and an 8.5X24ft Trailer, they're fine if you tow once or twice a year. If you tow your trailer a lot you'll be better off with some TTTs. I know a couple guys here that have some for sale and there's a place close to you that sells them IIRC....

I have the power extend camper style mirrors. About the only thing wrong with them is that the right hand side door mirror does not come with the wide angle glass like the standard mirrors have. Huge blind spot on the right side. Go with the TTT if possible.

I switched from the camper mirrors to the TTT mirrors and it was a huge improvement. I dont' tow anything but just being able to see what's going on on the passenger side of the truck was all i wanted. If you get the camper mirrors keep in mind you'll probably have to get some sort of clamp on or stick on convex mirror for it.

check the group buy section on the forum if you are interested in TTT's. I have the CIPA towing mirrors I am testing out, so far -:t

I switched to the standard DL3 power folding mirrors from the power extending trailer mirrors that came on my truck. For normal driving I could not see anything out of the passenger side mirror no matter what I tried. I could pass a car on the highway in fast lane and see them in my rearview before I saw them in my passenger side mirror! I only tow a boat so visibiltiy while towing is not a major issue.........

I agree with the others, there is a huge blind spot on the passengers side. I had a couple of close calls after I first got the truck, just cant see what is beside you until it is quite aways back. They are nice for occasional towing. I miss the self dimming drivers side mirror that my 03 had. The power folding mirrors were handy when driving the mountain roads, just push the button to get through the tight brush/tree areas. With the limited towing I do, I would rather have the power folding, self dimming, heated mirrors. I were towing a lot, I would definitly check out other options.

I ordered the stock towing mirrors. What ever you do DON'T get these mirrors!!! You are better off to get the power mirrors then add aftermarket units. The stock towing mirrors are the worst, I can't see my wheels if they are adjusted to see rear traffic and towing, forget it. And if some dork bumps into them in the parking lot you gotta get out to adjust if they are extended.

Ditto! The only convex mirror you can fit are the 1 3/4" round stick on ones! and there useless! Get the TTTs!

I agree. I have the power foldout towing mirrors, and the drivers side one is great, but the passenger side one is worthless. My dads has the regular standard mirrors, and it's much better. Does anybody know if you can get normal glass for the passenger side? It zooms in so much all I see is my trailer tire.

I would save your money and just get the standard ones it comes with. They are just as good for towing....

My truck came with the tiny little mirrors gm puts on most half ton trucks. Utterly useless. My dad bought me the manual extendable mirrors for christmas. I don't tow with my truck, but I do a lot of city driving in heavy traffic. Those things have already saved me a couple of times. I will look at the flat mirror on the passenger side and see a clear lane, then check the convex mirrir and see a tiny econo box hanging out in my blind spot. The manual extendables are way better than the crappy little mirrors, but I don't tow so I can't help you on that front.
