Does anybody know where the seat memory control module is? Mine occassionally puts the seat in random locations, but since the dealer can't replicate it when I take it in, they refuse to replace it. It's going to meet Mr. High Voltage Grill Ignitor to guarantee it will have problems next time.

I'm almost certain it is this box.

motovet - is that DynaMat on your floorboards? That looks beautiful! If it is, did you notice a big improvement in sound?

Heck, I just spent a day slapping that junk on my doors but you went all out!

That is the Airbag Module (SDM). The seat module is attached to the bottom of the seat frame.I'm almost certain it is this box.

No repair is available at this time for the above condition. Do Not Attempt any corrective action on these vehicles for this condition at this time. Refer to the Aiding Your Customer section below to disable the memory seat.

This bulletin is being revised to add additional information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-50-016 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment that with repeated cycling of the memory seat between the 'exit' and one of the 'presets', the position of the seat may "creep" forward or rearward out of expected adjustment.

Cause

There is a coding deficiency in the software for the memory seat module.

Correction

No repair is available at this time. This is a recognized issue and engineering is working to revise the software to correct this condition. If a customer comments on this concern at your dealership, please inform the customer that a service fix will be available in the near future and record the customer's information so he or she may be contacted when the service repair becomes available. DO NOT replace the memory seat module. Replacing the module will not correct the condition.

Aiding Your Customer
Depending on the vehicle type and/or option groups, you or your customer may be able to change the operational modes of the memory seat. The Drivers Information Center may have "Seat Position Recall" and/or "Easy Exit Seat" user configureable options. Turning off these seat related features may aid your customer by eliminating or reducing the need for seat adjustments until the required software upgrade is available. With these features disabled, the seat will operate as a standard power seat.

Same results but MUCH cheaper...... http://www.fatmat.com/ . I covered all but the roof, and plan to do that as well in the near future. Sound gain was substancial, and I can no longer hear the hiss of the tires when driving in the rain. I also used some of the spray on in the wheel well area and some of the exposed firewall.

Max Payne,

Thanks for the info. I guess I don't need to nuke the module, at least until the fix comes out, then we'll see how cooperative the dealer's service department is.

How many square feet did you need to buy to get the job done? I see they have 36 or 100 and I'm guessing this will fall right between the two.

When a truck is new it doesn't have any memory. You need to put at least a year and 50,000 on the truck, then the seat will sag in yo fit your ass.
