Yea that's quite a rig! What the heck was he planning to tow with that(probably anything he wanted)? Hope he strengthen the brakes and frame otherwise there would be little safe useable payload. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

All that money invented into that truck. What a waste. That reminds me of a dodge dually I saw here in Camp Pendleton, Ca that had a Detriot Diesel engine. I wish I could of taking some pictures of it to show you all.

Fortunately, there is an easier way to get a GM truck with 350 hp and 800 lb-ft.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Not to mention, Cat engines are e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e to work on.

I guy in college had a '76 blazer with a 480ish cube V6 diesel, 4stroke mated to a SM465 4 speed. With 3.08 gears he got 20 mpg. I just couldn't tell in the morning if it was him or the garbage man!!!!

Not to mention Id take a CAT engine in a Chevy, before any other engine. Im not knocking our Duramax. But CAT and their service franchises are among the most pleasurable companies to deal with. They may be expensive to fix when they are out of warranty, But when they are fixed, they are fixed. Not like the lube/detail guys working(learning) on our trucks...not knockin Eric either. We have the best luck with our Cat's.....We just did our first "major" service on one weve had 18yrs...an injection pump.

Not to mention they sound sweet. I like the purr of that CAT. Yes, this is very true! I like riding in my truck and hearing it purr. The sound of the Jake on high just makes my hair stand up!

I don't know, but if you wanted a CAT, wouldn't it be better (fit with other components, proper loading etc.) if you just ordered a GMC Topkick or Chevy Kodiak with one of the CAT motors?

It would not be as much fun thoughhttp://www.difflock.com/discus/clipart/nail_hit_sm_wht.gif (http://www.difflock.com/cgi-bin/discus/board-image-lister.cgi?popup=1#).
