First off I know about six guys are going to tell me that I can find this information in some previous post, but christ guys there are hundreds of pages and a lot of it is unrelated to the lighting subject.

All I want to know is if I can purchase LED bulbs and install them in my rear tail lights, and if I can purchase HID bulbs and install them in my stock headlights. If this is possible could someone please explain (or even link me to) how this is done and what is necessary. Also, where can these bulbs be purchased for a reasonable amount? Thanks.

I'll probably get flamed to death for this, but HID retrofit kits in stock composite headlights are a BAD idea. They work pretty well in a projector type housing, but in a stock headlight housing, they will just glare like mad and make other drivers curse you and your entire family. You will be able to see better, but you do that at the expense of oncoming traffic.
The LEDs will work fine, you'll just need to add resistors to the turn signal bulbs to keep them from driving the flasher crazy.

Can't say I agree with you on the HIDs in the headlights. Yes, they will work better in projectors, but they do work 100x better that the stock bulbs. I've been running my HIDs for a long time now and haven't had one single car flash me. You may just need to adjust your headlight positions if you're blinding someone.

As of putting LED's in the tailights, they will work. Just get the red ones for the stop and tail light, amber ones for the turn signal. The turn signal will probably flicker faster, due to the reduced amperage of the bulb.

Against my better judgement, I recently stuck a PNP kit and my headlights and I can attest that the output pattern in these housings is better than 99% of the non-HID housing w/HID that I've seen, and I too have yet to be flashed. That being said, the width of the pattern with HID is crap. You can see more side to side in our housings with regular halogens. The only thing thats nice about kits in these headlights is that it keeps the scatter on the ground and does a decent job of minimizing glare.

I'm now starting the acquire the parts for a TSX projector retrofit because I'm too used to driving cars with factory HID and the uneven pattern of the conversion kits in these headlights, while better than many, still kills me.

Thanks guys--- Any recommendations on where to get the LEDs? The Auto Zone is a little pricy considering how many I need. I checked out eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=190199508483&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI) but I read that sometimes the lesser dollar models aren't so great. I don't know what to think. I'm planning on doing the rear turn signals and running lights (red), the back-up lights (white), the roof marker lamps (amber), and the front running lights (amber). That's also a hell of a lot of load regulators. I have no idea where I'm gonna hide all the wires. Anybody done this? Do you really have to have a load regulator for every bulb or just the flashers? Again, I appreciate your help.---

How do you adjust the headlight lamps?

I replaced a bulb and did not notice any way to adjust. I have lifted the truck and would like to lower them a tad for the cars in front of me ;)

PM Nor-Cal Nick at Nor-Cal Truck about the HID's. He's a vendor here and took care of me.. Stick with 4300k-6000k to maintain a factory (color) look.
