Lookin for answers from those who are willing to share. I need to remove the question mark next to the converter flow valve, but I am unsure the shim mod for line pressure increases. Those who are willing to share I would appreciate it. It is hard to see in the pic, but in the lower portion there is a blue line with some text, pointing towards the pressure regulator valve, is this where the shim goes?

I dont have a kit yet, I have been toying with the idea of piecing my own trans together, but I wanted to have a good understanding on what I need beforehand. I still may go with a SCIV, just exploring all the options. Ignore the converter flow valve I understand it thanks for the reply.

You wouldn't want to put it on a valve that strokes in the bore. You would want the shim on the stationary component.

i thought of piecing together a kit as well but after buying a s/c IV i'm glad i did theres a few springs, shims and valves that would be tough to get or find and the price of the trans go and alto clutches comes pretty close to there kit price

Just look around and explore all options. If you have time contact Idahorob. Helped me out a bunch.

If you need it, I'll send you a PR shim tool that ships with the SC stage IV's.. I'll send the shim also.. You do enough transmissions and you collect a few of 'em.

BTW the shim goes around the minor diameter of #8 in the exploded view.
