: Whats the real world result on MPG.
2k5LLY 02-21-2008, 05:42 PM I am looking on buying a programmer for power but would also like to see an improvement in Fuel economy. I know they (Companies) advertise an increase in fuel economy. Have you guys really seen a jump with your programmer? If so, what one are you running. I am currrently getting 10 mpg but I have also not been too light with the right foot. I am especially interested in figuring this out and buying a programmer since I saw #2 Diesel here for $4.01 a gallon!!
dentpusha 02-21-2008, 05:48 PM i had a bullydog with crazy larry and got about 18-19mpg while left on crazy larry tune.i sold it bout a week ago and now im getting bout 11-12mpg
cuffnup 02-21-2008, 08:56 PM have seen people with preditor getting 20 to 22 mpg..i get 20.5
randy_the_hack 02-21-2008, 09:04 PM x2 - Predator bought me at least 2-2.5 mpg...
PoPsRacing 02-21-2008, 09:04 PM Man, I can't wait for warmer weather so I can get my milage back.

A-MEN, brother...
We're suffering from the plague of the Raining Death today... it's a skating rink, and 4x4 doesn't help much...
Turbobruce 02-21-2008, 09:14 PM I JUST PAID 3.90 A GALLON FOR DIESEL. ****** ME TO TEARS!!!!!!
Sorry for yelling but I'm livid right now. Real numbers in my world with my predator were 13.5-15mpg in the city and 17-19 hwy before my 4 in lift and 35s. Now 10-11 city and 14-16 hwy:(
66flh 02-21-2008, 09:27 PM If I behave and keep the truck where it thinks it's going 65-70(with 35's about 8mph over what the speedo says)I can average 17-19 on the freeway empty, depending on the terrain and wind while running a 100 horse tune.If I give it hell,I can go through a tank in a very short time.
cuffnup 02-21-2008, 09:39 PM I need florida weather please....now.....!

It was -8* here this morning. 15 min warm up and 10 miles to work and my temp barely made it past 170. This sucks.
mtchard 02-21-2008, 10:05 PM I agree! The winter blend certainly hurts the mpgs! When is spring coming!:exactly:
1literduceater 02-22-2008, 07:14 AM Dang my local fuel station is at $3.79 and I almost sh!t over that. They made 2 price jumps in the last week - $3.51 to $3.79.
I have a Bully Dog Power programmer (Power Pup). I run level 2 (think its 85 hp). I go off of the computer most of the time just to ease (I know its not correct). I did see a nice jump in efficiency - I would say at least 2.5+.
bobdel01 02-22-2008, 07:26 AM I have the banks 6 gun and have not noticed a difference :( still 13.5mpg onn level 4. I am trying level 5 this week to see if it helps any.
2k5LLY 02-22-2008, 01:41 PM I was unaware that the winter blend reduces mpg. I was thinking about running a ppe
Utahski 02-22-2008, 02:49 PM With the Edge still in and stock setting, a 660 mile trip in Jan. was 20mpg hand calculated.
PoPsRacing 02-22-2008, 03:39 PM We took a trip to western OH last weekend, 550 miles round trip. Going there into a 30 to 40mph headwind got 16mpg, coming home with tail wind got 19mpg. No trailer just a high boy cap on my bed. Wind is a real killer.
littelbear 02-22-2008, 04:07 PM I use the Quad Stealth 2 with Stanadyne added to each tank and I am getting around 16.5 MPG with some stop and go and highway type of travel. I filled up for $3.44/gal  yesterday and was not happy about it at all.
Oh well...do we really get our trucks for the gas mileage????
catman3126 02-22-2008, 06:09 PM I just payed 3.51 and saw another station that said 3.67, it jumped 30 cents at that place in about 4 days. what are we gonna do? I mean I make good money working for the power co and some of my friends around here make 15 dollars an hour less then I do and they drive their diesels alot more then I do. as for my mileage I get 14.5 pretty much no matter how I drive it. I also have the edge ez and run on #2 40 hp I think. afe intake and 4 inch exhaust. I don't much care for the mileage but love the pickup. I pretty much drive the old ford with the 12 valves cu m mi ns in it cause it gets 19.5 around town and 23 on the highway and it is cranked way up. but is not as nice of a ride.I gotta start making bio diesel, I have the processor made just need the chemical and the oil. thanks for reading my venting guys. have a good weekend. Lee
Axehammer 02-23-2008, 09:42 AM I've had my truck 2 1/2 years, bought it new, it now has 58,000 miles...
I started with Mobil 1 synthetic then switched to Shell Rotella synthetic...
I have been running a hypertech on level #2, and a TxC CAI, I tried all three levels and neither one helped MPG noticably...
The average MPG was 13-14 towing my #5000 race car and 15-17 empty on the freeway...
I recently switched to Schaeffers Supreme 9000 synthetic oil, because "Cufnuf" on this board said he switched to Schaeffers and picked up 1-2 MPG...
I went out on a limb and tried the Schaefers Supreme 9000 synthetic oil in my truck. I was desperate to get better MPG, I figured what do I have to lose?
I picked up 2-3 MPG...
I just installed a USPI by-pass filter, now if I can only make this oil last a long time, should be good for the engine as well...
