was wondering if anyone had any idea how long the glow plugs should last, because today the truck gave me a P0380 code. Not sure if it is just because it has been so cold out at night and the other day it was -30 with -50 wind chills that killed the plugs or what...other thing i noticed is that the light didnt come on until today when it was 15 above and the truck was warm...

That's kind of how I was thinking...warmer climate equals less load on the glow plugs?

i replaced mine at 90k ohm tested and 5 out of 8 were bad i did them so they would come out and even at 90k i had to heat a few of them up to get them out
very easy change
just like spark plugs
$80.00 at the dealer for parts
if you are in a salt belt like I am with winter snow I reccomend changing them
be carefull you break one off you have to pull the head off

I was yesterday when I was stuck on I24 North of Clarksville TN in Ky in that dang ice storm! Cars and Trucks wrecked all over the place. After Two hours trying we turned around and came back to Nashville!
