I read the thread about using the Soundgate interface with the Kenwood Sirius receiver and the factory radio. I have a PIE adapter and the Kenwood 901 series receiver. I have also had a different setup and the current setup has also been replaced totally and this problem still exists, in two different trucks, an 01 and an 03.

The sirius satellite connection drops off at various times and there are no obstructions to cause it. Many times the truck radio does not pickup the sirius adapter signal because it never goes into the sirius mode. Me and the tech have been through this system and replaced parts, check connections; you name it, it has been done. This has been going on for months. The interface people thought it was related to a problem identified with some other GM radios and they sent a new chip that was reprogrammed. No help. We are at a total deadend.

Has anyone else had loss of signal issues with sirius or xm. I mean really frequent loss of signal or failure to pickup the signal.

my sirius is the junker you get from radioshack. ive got the antenna up over the drivers head and alittle toward the rear of the roof. I too get an occasional loss of signal, usually in heavily wooded areas when trees are overhead. It does happen more than id like and in the beginning i had a little bit of interference noise once in a while. Dont know where or why it was happening but it doesnt anymore, I still lose the signal now and again though.
