There is no chance for the Dorango. You would beat him with 6,000 lbs. behind you. I smoked my buddies 99 Grand Prix GT witch has a cold air intake. My tires
were boiling as I passed him which only took about 30ft.:ro)

thanks guys. i think i will put some money down on this race. i dont have a boost gauge so when do you know when to let off the brake when power braking. i have never tried it. and should i put it in 4 wheel drive and tow/hawl.

Just listen for the turbo, push the throttle and when it gets hard to hold back with the brakes, there you are. I would use 2 wheel drive just for the smoke. But if you want a really hard launch use the 4 wheel drive.

Well you would destroy him in 2wd with no boost launch. Dont build boost unless you are in 4wd or you will have traction issues.

Bet 50$, put it in 2wd and just let him edge you. Then talk smack and get him to go for 200$. Put it in 4wd, launch from 1000rpm and destroy him):h You could leave with more boost but 1k is very conservative and you shouldnet break anything. No sense getting stupid when you could destroy him without much effort. It might be a close race if you were stock):h

i understand about the no traction thing. i tried it last night in 2 wheel drive and i left the street with the sweet smell of ruber and diesel. then i tried it in 4 wheel drive and it lounched so hard i was scared to do it again. it just felt like i was going to break something in half. i also only had my pred set on the 85 hp setting. my kid was in the truck and loved it. when we got home he told mom that i roosted the street. man do i love this truck. i feel like a winner already!

I handed one of these Durango Hemi things his lunch with my truck. I had the juice on 90 but he didn't need to know that. My truck has all of the California crap on it and it did not matter.

At first glance I missed your tranny upgrades. Now I'm just wondering if you could get one of those rear vision cameras mounted in time to catch the look on his face as you disappear in the distance.

The HEMI is all top end. From what I have heard, the HEMI does not come alive until very high RPMs. You will leave him in the dust until he gets it in the HIGH rpm range.

I dunno about the Durango, but I G-teched a Hemi Ram last summer that was traded in, here is the scoop: 2003 Dodge Ram 2wd, Reg. cab, Short bed. Cold air intake, cat back exhaust. 7.7 sec. 0-60, 16.14 1/4 @ 89.5mph. 4500 LBS. Very disappointing.

My uncle has a 2003 Ram Hemi, 2wd, regular cab, short bed with an Airaid intake and Magnaflow exhaust. He ran a best of 15.01 at the track. When it was brand new, it could only muster a 15.65. He said that the Dodge dealer told him after so many miles, the computer gives it the full power. I don't know if this is true or not.

4x4 and kill him off the line then switch to 2 if you think of it cause after the first couple hundred you will have all the grip you needthe hemi is not that fast!

we raced a friends hemi quad cab with an LB7 on both sides of him...i thought he left the black dodge in neutral! he crapped his pants when 2 big chevrolets came around him on his left and right at the same time:cool: the next week he traded the dodge for an H2 and sent back the blower he was getting ready to put on the hemi.

Duramaximizer, FYI, if you switch out of 4x4 and don't let off of the go pedal to get the load off the truck, it will stay in 4x4.

A friend of mine bought a Dodge Hemi extended cab short box 3/4 ton. He was eager to race me when his was brand new. So we went out and tried it three times. I beat him by two truck lengths by the time I reached the speed limiter. This was before I added anything to my truck-completely stock. He wasn't happy, but he still has it. Obviously, weight really takes it's toll on those 345 ponies.
