Hi,
I have a 2002 LB7 and my driver side headlight just went out. Am I better off letting the dealer do it or can a dumb a$$ do it?
Thanks

A dumb ass can do it.
Just pull the two rods out and the headlight assembly will pop right out.

It's nothing to do. First you need to pull the "L" shaped pin on top out. Then you can lift the headight assemble out some and unhook the lamps. Then the bulb twist out. Then do the opposite to replace. It should only take a minute to do.

A word of caution - DO NOT touch the bulb glass when you handle it - only touch on the part that screws into the light assembly. The oil on your fingers will cause the bulb to burn out quickly (I seem to recall immediately). If you do touch it, clean it with alcohol and dry with cotton.

Horse Trainer is correct.... Use gloves (if possible) when installing the lamp....

Kind of on this same line....
I'm having a heck of a time aligning my headlights.
I can adjust the low beams, but the high beams are all messed up (pointing almost straight down).
I can't find an adjustment that is separate for the high beams....
Any ideas??

The alignment is done with the low beams on. There is no other adjustment. That I know of. Sounds like something is wrong inside the assembly. If your still under warranty take it back.Kind of on this same line....

You should also get a clean, lint-free cloth, wet the cloth with alcohol and then clean the bulb before installation. That will get the oils and other contaminates off.
I'll be replacing my bulbs on my truck as soon as the HIR bulbs I ordered get here. Got the cloth and alcohol waiting.

HIR bulbs are Halogen InfraRed bulbs. The have a coating on the inside of the bulb that reflect the Infrared energy given off back to the filament to generate more light.
