Have a 2005 LLY with the edge juice with attitude. when temperature is at low temps say 160 and below it seems sluggish. is this normal? does the tuner reconize a specific temperature, before it has full power potential? or is there something wrong? sometimes it seems the boost comes up quick, then other times it does not. this is when either cold or at operating temps. this is my first diesel, and first turbo. have had plenty blower vehicles, turbo is a different animal.

The Allison tranny will make your truck feel sluggish when it's cold. It prolongs the shifts to help the engine/transmission warm up faster. Your boost question sounds like turbo lag. It all depends on what RPM your at when you step on it, as to how fast it spools up. All in all I think your fine.

And yes my banks does the same thing, It will not turn on until the truck reaches a certain temp so that you dont cause any excessive wear

Yeah my edge did the same thing, doesn't kick in till the truck has had time to warm up. The boost is up I think because the turbo is trying to compensate for the less than normal fueling when the truck is cold.

yeah the power will not be added at all until 160. then as it gets warmer it will add more. which totally sucks for the tranny cause it will learn stock power and then edge power. always going back and forth. thats why they never shift smooth. dumped mine got ppe. its like apples and oranges.

The Edge box regulates power delivery and timing based on engine temps. This means that while the engine temp is below 160 degrees no fuel or timing is changed. At 160 degrees the module delivers 50% of the calculated fuel, and the percentage increases as the engine temps increase. At full engine temp (174 degrees) the edge box delivers 100% of the calcuated additional fuel. At 174 degrees, the edge box will then start to modify the timing.
