: LLY Re-Flash- More info
snowsdog 01-18-2005, 12:45 PM I just picked my truck up 10 minutes ago from taking it in about the surging problem and vibration throughout the dash, also I am getting a heavy tire humm type noise at 60 MPH, it is not the tires as it changes with the RPM. Sounds like it is in 4 wheel but three times louder, also the engine Lugs very hard around 2200 and is noisy.
The tech said it is in the engine and GM is aware of the problem and is working on a fix for it but nothing now, and there has been a very high complaint ratio on this problem.
They reflashed the PCM Calibration 15245549, is this the correct update calibration, they did not provide the cal#.
I only drove it two blocks back to my office, but the Vibration at Idle is not better, not sure about anything else repoted by others. I will update after driving it to my 1:30 appointment.:(

On my reflash they also did Service Cal Fix 15245557. Depending on your build date you may or may not need this in addition to the Service Cal Fix 15245549 that they gave you. If you have someone run your VIN over on "Ask the Techs" you can find out what has been done to your truck. You can also go to this site http://calid.gm.com/vci/VINEntryPre.do and run your VIN. It won't tell you what's been done, but rather what the calibrations for your vehicle should be. If you still keep having these problems, I only have two suggestions: first, and easiest, buy some Stanadyne and see if that fixes the problems that still exist after the reflash (it worked for me). Second, document all of the customer concerns on your vehicle and tell the service manager that you want to begin a complaint process through GM to resolve these issues. Don't accept "we've done all we can do" for an answer if your vehicle is operating like this. There are lemon laws and there are people on this site that have had to use them. Good luck. Rowdy

AbsoluteGMC 01-18-2005, 04:05 PM I gave my dealership the info that I pulled off the calid.gm.com website and they were willing to reflash my truck just like that. I will have to wait till Feb 4 becuase the day that I was there the computer system was down. I'll report back then on anything worth sharing.
Critter81 01-18-2005, 06:25 PM I must suck at the internet because I have run my Vin number 3 times on that site and nothing comes up
snowsdog 01-18-2005, 06:28 PM Critter.
You need to turn off your popup blockers.):h
Critter81 01-18-2005, 06:33 PM THanks I suck!
JJs DuMax 01-18-2005, 09:20 PM Critter, you aren't the only sucker on that VIN site.):h I disabled the pop-up blocker and still never got anything after entering my VIN. I let it run for about an hour the last time, NOTHING! JJ :)
02B12S 01-18-2005, 10:21 PM I had to disable my firewall to get the results back from the site. Either a port or IP is being blocked. Just remember to turn it back on after.
Dmax Tim 01-19-2005, 08:37 AM worked fine for me.
snowsdog 01-19-2005, 08:44 AM You should have a popup blocked Icon if you have a popup blocker, turn off the popup blocker and click the blocked Icon it will come right up. The cal search only takes a few seconds. I experienced the same as you all did until i figured out the popup issue.-:t
briano 01-19-2005, 08:53 AM you can also hold the control key down right as you click to submit your VIN and it will bypass the popup...or allow it actually. that way you don't have to worry about enabling/disabling.. just in case some didn't know that.
fatboy66 01-19-2005, 03:48 PM MY CAL SAYS 15141668, DO I FALL INTO THE REFLASH RANGE?

What's happening with your truck?
Rowdy
bassin93 01-22-2005, 01:18 AM printed out the calibration update for my truck. Took quite a bit of convincing to my service manager that this came from a gm website and that this is an update for my engine. He just couldn't grasp it. I guess I got a little short with him and asked him if I should draw him a picture to better explain it. Then he said he would have to charge me 60 bucks to do it and I told him that everyother dealer was doing it for free, the owner showed up and told him to do it for me for nothing. When He downloaded the info from my truck and put it into his computer, it showed the exact updates that I was holding in my hand. He flashed my truck for me. I don't have the diesel smell that I have been having lateley and it did seem to run a bit smoother and quieter. Need to get it out of town to see if my mileage comes up.

does anyone know if this means I have the newest reflash
Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 01-28-2005, 12:40 AM I had the same question. According to Dmaxallitech the 2005 have the most current flash. The reflash only applies to the 2004.5. There is not currently a reflash for the 2005 models yet.

I think mine is just starting to develop this condition.

I have the same problem with mine. The dealer just check today and could not find any updates.
Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 01-29-2005, 03:29 PM Actually I took mine to the dealer yesterday for service and told them about the surge, they plugged in the TechII and found an update for it. But on my reciept they didn't give me the info about it. I haven't really checked it out much because before I even left the dealership I re-installed my Predator on 85hp. It seems to run a little smoother now but I haven't put enough miles on to make detailed comparison.
Canoli 02-01-2005, 02:54 AM so does the calid.gm.com tell you what you have had done or what you need? Does it update itself?
snowsdog 02-01-2005, 11:13 AM After driving another 2000 miles since my recal, none of the listed problems are fixed.
Dash still vibrating badly at idle, surge is worse now does it up to 1250 rpms and is much more noticeable. I will not be taking it back until April when I switch back to the stock tires, I upgraded to 285's MTR's for the winter. Still have the drone noise at 1850 to 2000 RPM. And the exhaust smell has gotten much worse.
On a side note the DIC seemed to be off at the beginning but leveled out after running a few tanks of fuel through it. Its of course off now that I upgraded tire size.
