I just bought an 08 1500 LTZ. It only has a single CD player but has the Bose sound system and an auxilary output for an ipod. I'm not real into electronics and just got an ipod shuffle as a gift. Today I went to buy the cord that goes from the ipod to radio. I can get the ipod to play through the radio, but the sound quality is terrible and not very loud at all. I'm just wondering if I could have bought a cheap cable, or if it is my ipod shuffle causing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it's the radio. I have the same radio and it doesn't sound good at all. I have the sirius satelite stiletto hooked up thru this port. this is why i'm going to install a new head unit with a j-lip plug. Also, I think the bass needs major improvement, so therefore, new under passenger seat box.

why do they bother putting it there if it sounds like garbage? Not a huge deal to me I guess... but the idea of it sure is nice.

the probably have the radio added as an afterthought. This being said, look into adding just an amp to your factory H.U. you'll be suprised at the difference in sound.

I have a amp running just the sub I put in and when I hook up my mp3 I turn up the volume on it and control it with the trucks volume and it sounds fine, it enhances the bass a little much but other than that it sounds like the hu

Mine doesn't sound bad...but mine's the NAV unit. My Bose unit sounded fine too. I had to adjust the "EQ" settings in the menu to off on my mini-ipod though. Before I did that, it sounded terrible. Once I turned it "off" it worked fine. I don't know if the shuffle lets you play with those settings or not. Also, the IPOD volume is always turned all the way up...then I control the rest with the truck volume control. :)

so you are saying that when you play music through the ipod you turn the truck radio EQ to OFF or on the IPOD?
