I really wanna lift my D-MAX! I have all the mods in my sig, but I want to lift it! I don't really pull alot. I'll pull a boat a few times in the summer, but that's about it. It's mainly for show. My question is, will my truck be ok with about a 6" lift and 35's without changing the gears? I've heard it's really expensive to change gears.

Thanks!
Jeremy

Lifting my truck thursday with a Cognito 7-9" lift and putting 22.5 wheels and 255/70/22.5 tires (36.7" tall) and I'm running 3.73 gear and expect no problems from all my research.. Now they are not wide like 12.50's or 14.50's so that may play into it some.

I pull a boat with mine and love it!!
You don't need to regear with 35's.....use tow/haul and IF you want you could leave it in 5th in manual mode......
I like my Cognito! For me it was between Tuff Country & Cognito. I liked that I could get a true 7" with no cranking on the torsion bars on the Cognito. I thought about RCD a bunch and thought about Fabtech for about 1 day. Do TONS of reading on here to make the choice that YOU want.

Wow! That's releaving! I didn't want to have to regear. If you don't mind me asking, MAX4X4, how much did your Cognito 7" kit cost you?

Not Max4x4 ,but I just got my coginto from Norcal Nick and added options like, Tie rods, deaver rear springs shocks and brake lines. Norcal nick's web site is very informative and has pricing for all of the above. Best lift out there for a 7-9" lift with minimal frame cutting and NO cutting to the front diff. Nor cal nick can be located in the vendor section on the top of the page.

Get an IDEA of pricing from his web site, then call him up and get a package deal price, tell him I told you to call:D;):thumb:
Where are you located?

I pull a toy hauler and a horse trailer with mine, and I didn't regear. If I had the cash laying around, I would probably notice a change... But the truck has no problem pulling right now...

when i had 35"s i didn't regear and i didn't notice any real power lose and i was able to pull my trailer with hay just as easy as when i only had 285's so with 35"s its not really worth it and ya i would do alot of research if you have the money then the cognito is one of the best if not the best but if you a working with a little less budget the RCD is a really great lift i haven't had a single problem with it

dawg2500HD,
I live south of you (tallahassee, FL.) and I ordered my Lift from Nor-cal Nick..takes about 5-7 days to get it from them to you. I thought that was pretty darn good. Nick shipped it UPS freight..
