And if so, How?

My truck would not start after work yesterday. It sounded like maybe 2 or 3 cyl were hitting but the others would not, thus no start. I am leaning to having some shot glow plugs (the 'on-time' seemed normal, so I think the controller is ok)

I am guessing that the 6.5 need a 2/3 majority vote by the cylinders on the start or dont start issue. ):h

2-3 glows down will make for a hard start. I pull the lead and put a probe on the lead connector and the other on the plug connector. This gives the same ohms as pulling the plug and testing it with a probe on the connector and the other on the body of the glow. .8 ohms would be good 1.6 ohms would have half the heat. -.002 -.000 is open.

Simplest way to test is with a test light. B+ to the terminal of the plug should show if they are open or not.

Not a bad idea to plan on replacing them anyhow. I sell a LOT of plugs for the 6.5 and hear a lot of comments on how much better the starting is afterwards...
