I have a 2000 Chev. Tahoe Z71 with a 5.7 L. K&N Gen II Intake and a Gibson Cat back exhaust. I want to tune it up because it has 50K on it. I want to replace the plugs but I am torn between the stock plugs, AC delco Rapid Fire or the Bosch Platinum +4? Any advice would be great.

NEVER put BOSCH plugs in a GM vehicle.
Stick with the OEM plugs. Thats the best thing and the truck was designed to run on them, not some fancy thing that isnt worth the box it comes in.

Something that only I might find interesting, and perhaps eric and patrick have seen this too is that if you look closely at the newer Ac Delco spark plugs (the double platinum units) although they all have the 5 digit delco number and the eight digit gm number, look closely at the metal base above the threads....They are actually made by NGK.....(I'm holding a 41-101 right now that shows this)....Interesting, no?

partsguy, your absolutely right...
NGK's have always made a good plug IMO too.

What are spark plugs?
IIRC I THINK that they are those little white pointy things that the less fortunate people have on their motor. They have wires attached to them that make the trucks go slower ):h ):h ):h

I had my Saturn in for an intake gasket leak last month. The tec found I had put in Bocsh plugs. He said they would never work right in a Saturn and they should be replaced. I let them do it but was wondering if I got screwed. Now I know I didn't. I am finding more and more the AC/Delco parts are the way to go.

Just my $.02.......................
Back in my younger years (high school and college) I learned a valuable lesson.
If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a while and want to do a QUALITY tune-up, do NOT by the spark plugs from a discount-type outlet (Wally World, Pep Boys, etc.) Although they are AC Delco, they are not the quality you will get from GM dealer. My experience was they would start arcing out after about 8000 to 10000 miles. Made my truck run like http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/censored.gif . I never had another problem after getting them from a dealer. These outlets sell them cheap because they get them cheap. They get them cheap because they are sub-standard and do not meet the highest specs.
