I have a 2003 GMC 2500 duramax & i have heard that with the low sulfer fuel I shoud be adding a fuel additive to each tank for better lub for the motor. Any suggests or comments would be appreciated.

The best by far to use for lubercation is biodiesel. A B2 is plenty to do the job. There is a study posted on the forum.

Stanadyne is the only additive GM recomends.

Stanadyne Performance for me. Buy it in the gallon jugs with a couple of single shot bottles that you keep refilling so you don't waste time at the pumps. Helps with anti-gelling also.

If you read the additive study the top performers are listed. None of them have been mentioned in this thread thus far outside of biodiesel. Read the study, see what is easily available to you and make your decision. That way you will have more of a scientific result instead of "what i think is good".

As srjacob mentioned, the best for lubrication is biodiesel. A small amount makes a huge difference.

Ditto, read the study. The results are interesting/surprising.

Why is that.... I am just wondering what you noticed.

I just ordered Opti-Lube.

Here's that lubricity study everyone has referred to.

If you have any questions about fuel additives, especially lubricity, this is a MUST READ!

Stanadyne or DSG 4+Premium. Be very careful of Howes, tests always rate it poor for lubricity.
