Might just want to get a pipe already made for it. It does cost quite a bit more than any other home solutions, but the EGT's can get extremely high, so you might want to be careful so you dont melt down parts of the truck or that actual pipe..

Just my opinion..

I didn't notice much differance. I liked it better with stock muffler and "cat less".

I thought about takin the cat off but i think it be a pin to put it back on each time i have to take it to the dealer and it will set off codes.

Get a Fingers stick, so it doesnt set off codes. It's so small that you'd really have to look for it to find it. Putting the cat back on or taking it out is a PITA, unless you have a lift, the torsion bar/tranny body touches it.

Mine does not set off codes with the stock exhaust on "cat less". I have checked with my scanner and I had the dealer scan it.

Rick, any problems from the dealer on not having the cat on. I just installed a stock lb7 pipe and still have the stock exhaust in place.

Installation took 45 min. and that included trying to find the right tools and putting them back after job. I haven't test drove yet, so can't remark on the sound.

Thanks,
Rob

I put that 4" down pipe on my LLY and the only time I got codes when it was cold and I didnt let it warm up. I bought a stick though and dont plan on taking it off for anyone. Its small, I plan on eventually straight piping my truck also. However, Ive never heard one of these things with straight pipe. Does anyone have any electronic copies of what that sounds like?

My dealer hasn't even noticed. At least he hasn't said anything. I've had both of the trucks in several times since I took them off.

They will set codes without turning on the light sometimes. Use a Diesel specific scanner to check for sure.

I bought a 4" Motoblue dual exhaust system from rpmoutlet.com. Im happy with it other than the sound. My dads LB7 has stock exhaust straight piped. Thats the sound I was lookin for not that jet whistle. My exhaust has no cat and a straight thru muffler. What will it sound like if I cut the muffler off. BTW, my exhaust made an awesome difference in throttle response. I was really impressed.
