For a while it will. You might as well do a few other things to the trans while its out, like pump shim, converter flow valve and add a clutch to the c3's and it will hold those tunes with ease.

Depends which kit you go with and how much power you want to run. $2k-$3k plus the cost to have it installed.

i am wanting to do the same thing, just a transgo jr kit and a stronger converter. but i dont want to do something as dramatic as a suncoast kit. i've found some pretty good prices the the transgo jr, but i havent had any luck on what type of converter i should get and the price it would be. any ideas?

a full build is needed to get the full effect.

Not everyone needs a 2-3k tranny build to play around a bit...:) The 6 speed alli will handle 200hp with minor mods.

yes, but there is still some damage being done without a full build, its just a question on when it will show the effects on the operation of the tranny:)

I'll agree, depends on the driver I guess.

A pump shim was said to get. What does this do? I have never heard anyone talking about that. The 1058 is the rave now.

i have a 2005 lly and going to upgrade the tranny soon thinking about a complete but would like to get a six speed. Is this possible and what would be the best brand to buy? I use this truck as a daily driver, but want it to be able to handle large amounts of power not sure on numbers yet but i thinking well over 6-7 hundred. Am i crazy or is this possible?

If you want the six speed you will have to go with suncoast. They are the only ones with the conversion kit. And yes they build transmisson that will hold this much power.

Suncoast stg 5 might hold up to 700hp but your stock engine internals will not for long.
