: One stupid question?

I know it might sound stupid - if I get the new latest reflash for my 2005 truck (to lower fuel pressure and have a quieter engine....) what happens if I get a programmer (predator...) or a new module (tts)? Will the new reflash be overwritten and all the "evil" (noisy engine...) comes back because the fuel pressure is raised again etc....?
I assume I have to stay stock to have the quietest engine possible? More power would be nice since I will install the 325/60R18s soon, so I am thinking to get the tts tow module.

Thanks for any input as always :)

the reflash wont do anything bad - youre still going to be able to hook up a harness device, down-loader, or new pcm (TTS) and be fine. you might notice more engine noise depending on which module you go with but they are diesels and are supposed to sound a bit different - i think they all make some noise, and some tick more than others, and some respond differently to different mods, not sure why but they do. good luck, for what its worth, the TTS is your best bet by far IMO !

Thanks for the answer. I wanted to know if the newly done reflash will be overwritten again by the programmer or replaced by the new module....

it cant really be over-written with a downloader IIRC, its basically a set of parameters within the PCM that the reflash changes. When you download a tuner, it will change some of the parameters to get the gain in HP but IIRC its not the same information that the reflash changes - just some minor ones but nothing to take away from the reflash, does that make sense ? in other words, if you get the reflash, the programmer will and should work fine and not mess with the reflash, if anything, the truck should run better and stronger with the reflash and new tune

Thank you tbone1227!
Make sense to me. Will get the tts soon. (After the reflash).

A tuner/programmer will increase your idle, engine noise and fuel rail pressure.

If you go with a box thats plug and play like Juice, it will not.

They do not effect anything to do with reflash. By the way, if you ever go in for service and you don't remove the program downloader type first, and they reflash your truck for what ever reason, your downloader is gone for ever, as it will be over written.

There are many post on here about this.

Jumper - a box will definitely add engine noise, atleast on the LLY, ive tried the bully dog, quad, and juice and they all add some type of noise over stock, some just more than others
