They are REALLY tough bumpers... I just about ran over a s-10 and all it did was bend the roller for the winch a little. Im thinking about getting one for my new truck.

Just put one on mine a few weeks ago and love it. I will try to get some good pics tomorrow and post them.

I know it looks cool to have a winch mounted to the front of your truck, but look at it from a practical stand point. What if you get the truck stuck and decide pulling it forward would be a mistake?

My winch is mounted on a plate with a 2" steel bar that can be used in any trailer hitch - front or rear (see my garage). There are some front bumper replacements that have a 2" receiver built in.

I have also been looking to pull the trigger on the transformer with the compressor winch combo but i haven't seen any lmm's with one on and want to see it first, get those pics up asap!

but with this type of setup the winch can be stolen easier trust me i have had it happen and also if you take it off and put it in a toolbox then that takes up the space you may need in there i haven't been in any place that pulling from behind was a better option . but that is just my opinion

check the first link in my garage, for a truck that looks just like yours. That truck pulled me out and I've been jealous ever since. Definately going to pull the trigger soon.

Not to be a downer, but i thinks brush guards are completely worthless. If you doing it for looks iguess thats one thing if you like it, but if your doing it for front protection dont even bother.

Have you seen a warn trans4mer brush guard up close? It is tough as can be. Only way you will hurt it is by hitting the sides of the truck.
I slammed into a s-10 going 30 while he was stopped. Didnt hurt my truck at all. His bed was all bent up and his bumper was gone.

Anything can be stolen - heck if they want it that bad, they'll steal the whole truck. Mine is mounted to a 3/4 steel plate. The mounting bolts, which are not accessible from the top, are welded to the plate underneath. The 5/8 pin that holds it in the receiver has a "L" bracket welded to it with a hole drilled in it. It mates up to another "L" bracket welded to the receiver, and has a Kryptonite type lock. I guess they could steal the whole receiver, but as hard to pound into place as it was, and the rust from two Michigan winters would probably thwart that move too. I'm betting it wouldn't be any easier to steal that it would be to remove a bumper mounted unit. Unless as I said they stole the whole truck.

the one we had on my dads last truck saved us from having to redo the entire front of his truck because my brother didn't see the deer that he hit doing 60 now it wasn't a westen or one of those cheap look alike that are out there is was one just like what is on my truck but not a full replacement just the brush guard. I have seen the warn bumpers up close they are heavy duty you have to build something strong if you are going to let people put a winch that is big enough to pull 16k lbs on it
