Was told that a Ford dealership can detect whether you had a power box installed in an 04 and later Ford truck, and therefore possibly void warranty.
Does anyone know if this is true ?

i have also heard that the new 6.0's store peak boost and other engine functions. Also ive heard that tuners leave "cookie's" similar to the ones on your pc that the stealership can detect. im not positive about this, but ive heard it more than once though.

Can they also detect this on the 02's?

On a 7.3L if you plug a chip onto the computer it will leave a dummy code of 0603 but thats only part of it. If the dealership gets nosy and pulls the computer they will be able to see where you cleaned the contacts to install the chip.

Thats why you are seeing tuners becoming more popular because they plug into the OBD2 port and upload the programming. These units also feature diagnostic trouble code readers that allow you to read the computer the same way the dealership can and the ability to clear all codes not to leave any records that your truck has been tuned.

Just reset the codes before you take it in. They do have a little "black box" type of thing but they only look at that in a accident. Like I said reset the codes and play dumb.
