The rear light on my drivers door switch cluster is out. Censored Does anyone know if the bulb is replaceable? Any info on this, like the bulb required, how to, etc. would be appreciated.:o It is really annoying to have a light out.

 Wow! No one had had one of these stupid little bulbs go out? I guess I am just lucky. Anyone know the part number for the clip that holds the panel in? Notice one was missing.:(

The are tiny little bulbs. We use similar bulbs in some of our equipment but they are a bit smaller. Take one out and go to a place that fixes car radios and that type of thing and see if they can find you one similar.

:ro) Thanks Max. I will pull it apart this weekend. Any idea what the part number for the clip would be?

Finally got around to pulling the light out. Appears to be an led. The problem is this one is shorted, so I don't know what voltage it is. It is white with a blue cover. The great search begins. If anyone knows any secrets, please :help2:
Also, just so if someone else tries this, you have to desolder all of the connector pins to get the PCB off so you can get to the two leads soldering the LED on. That was a PITA!Censored

BlueOx03 redid all of the light in his dash and door. The topic was called: I finally finished my dash lights. On the third page is a vender link where he purchased the new LED's. PM him and ask for help.

Okay, here is the summary of attempt number one. I got a 5mm white LED. First, the OEM are 3 mm. I had to move the little blue condom over to the new LED and solder it in. Now for the good part, I had :duh: moment and took out the good LED and put in the new one in it's place. I soldered the pins back in place and assembled it to the minimum point to test. Well, now nothing worked. I assumed I had the LED in backwards. I pulled it out from the top and switched it. I pluged it in and got a quick flash of the new on and then nothing from either LED. Censored So I decided I would just put the old diode back in so at least one of them worked. I went to move the blue cover back over and tore it in half. Well, I decided not to worry about it since it out anyway. I didn't get the solder joint very good since I was working from the top.:( I put the whole thing back together and pluged it in. The "bad" LED worked for a few seconds and then went out. It was at this point it dawned on me I had replaced the wrong diode.:drop_mout I knew the joint was not good, but wasn't going to worry about it till I got the correct diode. So now I have no lights. I will wait until it warms up and try again when I get some blue LEDs since I tore the cover. 3 hours of work, a $6 white LED and now I have no lights. Not my most successful project.:o:
Anyone got the part number for the drivers side switch cluster? It might be cheaper and easier at the rate I am going. :help:
Just as a side note, when you have that switch assembly out, you cannot use your heated seats or memory feature. The truck also does not see the door open so you get no dome light on.

I can't get them to find the stupid little clip that holds it to the door panel, much less a soldered on component. I am sure they will just tell you it comes only as an assemble for $75.70.;)
