never owning a Duramax, I was wondering if 30lbs oil pressure at idle ( 700 RPM) at 180 degrees water temp is about right?

i would say so... several others, myself included have seen otherwise but 30 lbs sounds like good pressure...

thats fine, mine runs at about 35-40 hot idle.
