Staff edit to non site vendor DSG removed
I saw this quote: "ELIMINATES THE FACTORY CLIPS THAT CAN POP OFF CAUSING CATASTRAUPHIC ENGINE FAILURES"
Is this true? Are the factory clips that Bad? Any experience? If they are a problem this is my first UPG.
That is about double the cost of what I have seen others on here have. I'll send you a PM.

Lube specialist. He was half that and I think a supporting vendor. Just got mine from him. Not installed yet but looks good. PM TD. He also used them . The link escapes me now to his web address.

Yes, the stock oil cooler lines are a problem. The clips can let go and you lose your oil almost immediately. The other problem is where they are crimped, they tend to leak alot.
Lubrication Specialists kit is about $180 IIRC.
This is on my list of to-do's
Or else get the local hyd. shop to make up some lines.

Sounds good! But is this a serious problem with these engines?

Depends on what you consider serious... If having them blow out and costing $4k+ is serious, then yes, the results can be serious. I know 2 people that didn't change them that wish they did
I have the Lube Specialist kit... Check the vendors under AMSOIL.

This engine doesn't have anymore problems than any other engine, really, so don't get upset just yet.
Other bad design feature would be the PMD (pump mount driver) on the injection pump. Bad location. Best option is to get a wire harness extension and get it out from the engine compartment. I suggest the nostril of the bumper.
Other than those two, same run of the mill problems as any other diesel that's not under warranty ;)

Yes factory clips are that bad, especailly in locations where de-icer chemical can get to clip & rot em out, more than one 6.5 has died from oil cooler lines popping off, Kennedy & lubrication specialist sell replacement line kits with coolers

What replaces the clips in the new kit? Screw on ones? Lubrication Specialists Oil Line/Cooler Kit has fittings that screw into the block: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=52130&d=1198038983
