: E/J warranty angle?

I just purchased the E/J w/attitude from a DP vendor. :) I liked the tranny protection and the ability to monitor EGT's and boost and use it much like a gauge package. We plan only to use it on level 1 or 2 to improve towing hp/tq.

My primary concern is if/when we need warranty work done, especially while Mama JJ is on the road (she travels extensively). The attitude will be mounted in one of Trippins ATS mounts, soon I hope(subtle hint:D ).

My question is, if she has to take it into a dealer and she sets the E/J to zero (no mo' power) and only if they ask tells them "we use the attitude to monitor EGT's, protect the tranny, etc., while towing" is there anyway GM could technically refute this? I read where some dealers don't hassle guys while others do. I would prefer not to have her pulling things unnecessarily. Appreciate the input! JJ :)

You should teach her how to remove it. :(

MP, I take it you don't believe we would have a very good leg to stand on? Just wondering if they could prove we used the E/J otherwise. If I tell her she's going to have to pop the hood and start pulling things she is likely to say she doesn't want it in her, err I mean our truck! :D JJ :)

Is it worth the chance? I would say it is pretty hard to believe that someone would spend that much and not use the extra power. Wouldn't you agree?

In my opinion JJ, it would be just like telling the police that you smoked lots of joints, but you never inhaled.....):h

In other words, your story isn't going to work..

I agree with Max Power. Take the Juice out if you bring it in for any reason.

Call the dealers in your area and just ask them if they have a problem with your tuck having the Juice on it. I've been fortunate to find a dealer that doesn't mind the box. I can get the not so difficult warranty things fixed and other maintenance items done without the hastle of removing everything. I have a backup dealer in case of diesel catastrophe but I will probably remove the Edge if I go there.

JJ,

Even if the dealer says it is not a problem having the Edge installed, you could still have the bad luck of a GM rep being on site when your truck is at the dealership. The rep can do whatever they want, no matter what the dealer told you.

From reading some of your previous posts, it appears mamma JJ pulls the fifth wheel solo on occasion. That being the case, she appears to a self-sufficent kind of gal. If she can handle hooking up the fifth wheel, and setting it up for camping, then I bet she can handle removing the Edge. From what I've seen and read, it is a simple process.
