Over the weekend, I traded by PSD for a Duramax. On my ford, I had a retrax that worked well but I did have problems with the lock freezing and did not like loosing the space up front. Since it won't fit my Chevy, I've decided to look at other covers. For those of you who have the Fold A Cover, how is it in the winter? Do you have problems with the lock freezing? DO you have problems with the panels with ice and snow?
Thanks in advance.

No problems. Live in Iowa, so we have godawful weather. Works perfectly and as advertised, I really like it. The locks have rubber covers over them so they won't freeze. The only thing that's cheesy on it is the way it keeps the tailgate from being able to be opened. It's just a lil plastic stick on strip that has already fallen off on mine with the sub-zero temps. I'll just get a tailgate lock when I get the chance and it will be perfect.
It's also quite watertight. I've run it through the car wash 3 times, and only had just a few drops of water on the drivers side by the tailgate. I was impressed.):h

Thanks for the info. My tailgate has a lock on it already so can I get by without the plastic strip? My retrax was a pain if we got ice. I see where retrax is coming out with a new cover for the lock to prevent the problems I was having.

I have had mine for about 4 months and it works fine. With the rubber covers it doesn't get dirt or water in the lock. I hope to get a gooseneck hitch put in and it should fold up enough to be out of the way. Have gotten some snow and had no problems.

The cover has worked great in summer and winter. I'm really more impressed with the performance of the cover in the cold. Temp of -30C and covered in ice and snow. Opened the rear cover and slowly folded it to the back to load some stuff in the box. It was VERY stiff but it folded eventually. Had to remove all the snow/ice though. The rubber protected the lock and once the ice was removed, it was esaliy unlocked. Went back to cover the bed much easier with no damage.

I have an over the rail spray in bedliner. Will this affect my ability to use a Fold-a-Cover ???

I got mine from kcovers.com. They have two versions. One for trucks with a locking tailgate and one for trucks without. I have the non-locking tailgate flavor. I wish I'd had the locking tailgate kind. The plastic piece that attaches to the tailgate is flimsy. Everything else about it is great IMHO. Of course I haven't been able to test it in cold weather but I didn't have any leaks in all the rain we've had the past 3 months. It's the only way I'll go as far as bed covers go.

My thoughts exactly. Works like a charm!
