Got in the truck this morning and no power steering or power brakes. No error codes on the dash and only 15000 miles on the truck. I have been looking for bad fuse and can't find anything. Checked serpintine belt and it is there. Anyone have any ideas?

I got back from being out of town last night (11pm) started her up and put it in drive...no brakes or steering. I looked for fuses and realized after half an hour that the punp was mechanical. I had previously checked both reserviors and they were ok but check the PS once more while running and then touched the wheel. Everything was back and seemed ok. I am at the dealer right now and will post thier findings. Oh, there is hydraulic residue on the Hydrobooster/brake reservoir and the hoses below the power steering pump. My Sub had a hydo leak a while back and I had to replace the booster. It was a $550 part and took a couple of hours. It had a leak though and the brakes or steering never failed.

Update I let it set about 30 minutes, restarted it still no brakes or power steering, rev the engine a few times and everything is working for now. Very strange

I have to give credit to my dealer...my truck has 65k no ext warranty and they are replacing the hydroboost and master cylinder for labor only. Parts are $800 labor is $300. I said good deal and thanks.
I have been going to this dealer since I had an 83 Riviera and have always gotten good fair treatment. Sometimes they sell me parts at wholesale too... I guess I am just lucky sometimes.

I talked wth the dealer about 12:00 and told him what was going on. He thinks it is the hydro boost but was surprised it started working again. Are these things prone to fail so quickley?

Heared of this alot. Sticky bypass valve in the PS pump I believe. My gramps had this happen, screwed with it for a few minutes and it started working. been working fine ever since, for about 9 months now.
