I replaced a water pump today on an 04 Silverado with a LB7. I have done alot of these in the past but a co-worker mentioned that the tube that runs along the side of the block, (drivers side) sometimes will leak at the seal at the oil filter adapter. So I took a look and sure enough it showed signs of previous leakage. So I replaced that seal as well.( not pretty, it took a long time!) Anyone else run into this?

replaced the seal on mine. in the process of replacing the wp, the tube itself sagged when it was unbolted and pinched the original seal on the back. rather than chance it having a pinhole leak, i went and bought a new one....
it was my fault for not supporting the coolant tube better but..... live and learn i guess...:o:
replaced the small rubber hose that transverses the block directly above the wp also. it looked old, and didn't wanna have to tear everything down again in a few thousand miles to replace it when it was right there to begin with.....
this was on an 03 lb7
So I had to loosen all the oil filter adapter bolts, and lower it down a bit to remove the tube . The tube wouldn't pull straight out. Has anyone else run into this?
