i went out and drove the truck and the service engine light kept poppin on then off and i did the paper clip test and i got a 78 code what could that be

Code 78 usually refers to the wastegate solenoid. See if your vacuum lines are well fit or not broken, if that doesn't cure, you'll probably have to change your solenoid.

yep boost issue, just go with a homemade TM.

Both needed the WG soleniod.
