I have a 2005 Sierra (gas) and I am going to be lifting it soon, I have tried researching/reading etc etc BUT cannot find any true answers, I know everyone here is fond of cognito/cst but I am wondering what will be better?
Money does not matter because I will save to get what is best,

I have been quoted 4200 for a 6' rcd kit with pro comp extreme mud terrains and 17' xd hoss rims, I heard that the rcd kit is a 4' Kit and that they crank the Torsion bars to get a full 6' or lift, therefore causing major wear and tear on the front suspension components.

As for cst it was 5000 for the 6/8' kit with pro comp extreme mud terrains and 17' xd hoss rims, I hear only good things about cst.

So if anyone can help inform me/make my decision I will be very thankful!

PICS WOULD BE A PLUS!!!

That info you received on the RCD is 100% false. Fit & finish, as well as shock choices are the biggest differences between any spindle style lift. Both RCD & CST make good product. I stay away from ANY lift that lowers the upper control arms. IMO, the best setup is the 6" RCD with the Cognito steering upgrades. Done deal, you won't be disappointed!!

I second cjsho, uca drop kits eat up front ends like crazy, if money isn't a problem then i would say cst or cognito and good set of shocks. You wont be let down.

My truck has been jumped about 3 feet in the air with a cst and survived. ( Asphalat kicker in the road on the way to the lake). I do a lot of off roading and my CST works great. Haven't broken anything yet and the finish/ fit is good. I recommend. I am using fox shox and it rides really smooth.

I have pics of a RCD in my garage. I've had 2 trucks with RCD and haven't had a problem.

I am thinking on going with the cst kit because eventually I want to get 37's and run it a little higher, I would def consider cognito but I cannot find anyone near me that sells/installs the kit!

The Rcd Is A 5.5 Inch Lift With The T Bars Cranked. I Have The Kit On My Truck And I Keep It Around 4.5" With No Block In The Rear, Just An Add A Leaf And A Little Arching At My Spring Shop.

I had RCD on a 2001 Chevy 2500HD 8.1L gasser. I was good and rode ok with the Bilsteins I think the RCD kit was not a flexible seemed stiff. Only issue I had back then was sway-bar linkage broke a couple of times. They were using a zinc bolt or something like that and would break time to time. They have since corrected the problem and replaced the parts no questions asked. Only other thing I have to say the ride progressively got worst I'm sure it need new shocks after 40K mikes on the vehicle and lift kit. Sold it at 48K and bought a H2 that was awesome rode like a Caddy!
