So I put new wheels and tires on my truck. I went with BTR wheels and the BFG All-Terrain 285/70R-17 which is a D rated tire. Since my stockers were E rated with an 80psi max and the BFG's have a 65psi max, when the tires are cold, my "Check Tire Pressure" sensor is on.
Is there a trick to re-calibrating the sensors to a lower pressure range?

You will need to find someone with a Tech 2 or go to a dealer and ask them to lower the value.

I think I've saw on a post here before where someone said that the tire pressure sensors don't "really care" what psi you run in them as long as there's only a couple pounds of difference but don't quote me on that...I'm sure someone else will be happy to chime in...

Had mine reprogrammed at the dealer. Got 'em back down to 45-50 psi.

We did everything possible and GM wouldl not change the tire pressure . It took an act of GOD to get them to change the tire size which they also would not do( 245-75-16 to 285-75-16 )We finally bought a programmer and did that ourselves. We will find a way to do the sensors ourselves. Wish I had my 2005 back as this truck is wonderful but GM is NOT. Bucks
