I've been "lurking" around the forum for a little while and now this is finally my first post. I was wondering at one point, if any would you need to start building the internals of the new LLY duramax? Also, I do not have much experience with building diesel engines, i was just wondering what route to take in building it would be the best? (ie-what you should buy first and so on...) Thanks in advance - Alex

No internals of d-max or prettey hefty, if u go really crazy with nos or propane just make sure u have enoguh fuel and egt's are good so u dont have a nuclear meltdown. I have only seen on d-max engine with interanal damage, a spun rod bearing, other than that they are pretty damn bulletproof.

Sounds good to me. Any other people know about the internals for the 'max...What about sequence to mod the duramax? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nobody on the forum has talked about changing engine internals. And some are running some pretty impressive power. Check out super diesel's sig. The power gains have been external mods.

Internal mods are really not needed at this point, and those that will do them have extensive R&D and costs involved. Pretty bullet proof rotating assembly for sure. Some gains can likely be had with a port and polish on the heads and clean up the intake and exhaust I'd but.
