Anyone know the Curb weight of 2007/2500 Reg Cab Long Bed vs.2005/ 3500 Reg Cab Long Bed. Just wondering how much difference there is between the two. 2007/2500 smokes me on take off with less tune. I`m at 120 he is at 65. Same tunner same set up. Exact same set up !!! I know the 6 speed helps alot but is it that much !!!

I would think within a few hungred pounds of each other. The LBZ's run good stock, add 60 hp to it I can see it keping up with a 80-100hp tune on a LLY. The six speed is the exact same transmission, it just has the extra overdrive activated. The gear ratios 1-5 are the same. Are you launching the same?

Just seems like the throtle response is much faster and the shifts are firmer than on my LLY. I wondered if my programmer learned down the Tranny pressures or if I had other issues. Tire size is 265s his is 245s.he has stock intake Mine has high performance. The only difference!!Thought weight might be a big difference. Anyway to make the Tranny re-learn without flashing the TCM?

I`ve been looking for answers for my problem for a few months now and finally got some great info that helped a bunch. See I use to have firm shifts and sit you back in the seat response. At 10000 miles I pulled down all fluids and filters to rid myself of wear shavings. The problem is I used a Napa Gold Spin on for the Tranny. Not knowing that the filter was made differently than the OEM Allison filter I thought everything was great . Wrong answer !!!! The Napa Gold filter return holes are a smaller pattern than the OEM filter, thus the Magnet covers the return holes and restricts flow. I found the answer to this on a post in the Drag racing section and replaced the filter with a OEM from the dearership. The Tranny problem seems to be going away after just a few miles. I`m hoping that after the Tranny re-learns my problems go away.. Seems lots better already!! The filter must be on the supply side of the Torque converter.. No Flow No Go !!!!!

What level you running your edge on? My dad had an 05 LLY crewcab and my 06 LBZ would take it. His had the edge and mine was PPE. The ppe is a much stronger tune.

Now that the Tranny problems seem to be going away level 3 with the fuel set on 5..Great power and lots of smoke!!! Need to upgrade Tranny to Transgo Full Kit and Suncoast TC soon so I can turn her up to level 5. Level 3 will make her fish hook when going into 2nd and sometimes 3rd if the road is a little damp.

I found somewhere that my 2007 2500HD LS Trim Model (LBZ, 2wd, Reg Cab, Long Bed) has a dry/empty weight of 5,745lbs. I'll verify its race weight at the track this spring.

Thanks jpowel29 that helps. I`m thinking a 3500 weighs somewhat more than that. That would explain why a 2500 would launch quicker.
