I took mine out, maybe 15 minutes tops. The thing will come out, but you have to put a little muscle on it. It's pretty flimsy/rubbery and since i had no intention of EVER putting it back in I didn't car what it looked like once it was out. Small bolt behind the battery and the little plastic push-pin right in the air cleaner end is all that holds it in. I twisted the crap out of it, and didn't hurt anything.

There's also a post somewhere around here about it. Check out the FAQ section or use the search function on the top of the page.

i did it, no problem, i used the kennedy diesel website also i think i remember cutting it in a few places to get a better grip on it but if you can't get it out then no offense but i would sell the truck pull out your purse and buy a smart car or something lol, just kidding.

This time of year, if you put a hair dryer to it, it'll warm up and soften making brute force extraction viable.

Was the first mod I did to my truck, three days after I bought it. Remember thinking this must be what pulling teeth is like to a dentist. This is Canadian Rigger's post in the FAQ here on how it's done, complete with pics....

x2 on warming it up first; as Don mentioned, you also have to make sure you get the little screw out from behind the battery (gotta remove the battery from the tray to see it) that holds the end bracket in there, and ditto on the plastic push-pin).

It really helps if, once you remove all that stuff, you clamp a pair of vise-grips on it. You need to reef and twist and pull to get it out, and the damn thing slips outta your hands 'cause it's hard to get a grip on it.

But trust us, it DOES come out of there.
