I noticed a discouraging noise coming from engine compartment last night. Looked around didn't see anything. Took it to a local shop, they said they had no room, went home. I noticed the noise was gone, but there was a smell.

50% of the belt width wise is gone, its wrapped around the back of the tensioner. It is my understanding that if the belt randomly goes like that, there must be a problem with the tensioner. I got prices for the tensioner and the belt fro a local dealer.

So... Is there anything else that could possibly be the problem? Any other parts that might have failed? It does appear the belt may have wrapped around an idler pulley, it looks bent.

Only recent upgrades was a new EFILive tuned ECM.

Common occurence?

Thanks, DP

Either that or buy them both and take back the one that you don't need.
